Sidharthaka Snana Choorna – Ingredients, Uses, and Dosage
Sidharthaka Snana Choorna or Sidharthaka Snana Churna is an ayurvedic medicinal preparation in the powder form. It is used in treating skin diseases, leprosy, edema, and anemia. It improves the colour of the skin. It can be used for bathing, conducting Vamana, virechana or as a decoction for internal administration. In general, it is used as bath powder in skin diseases.
Ingredients of Sidharthaka Snana Choorna
- Mustha (Cyperus rotundus)
- Triphala
1. Haritaki (Terminalia chebula)
2. Vibhitaki (Terminalia bellerica)
3. Amalaki (Emblica officinalis) - Madanaphala (Randia dumetorum)
- Karanja twak (bark of Pongamia pinnata)
- Aragwadha twak (bark of Cassia fistula)
- Kalinga beeja (seeds of Holarrhena antidysenterica)
- Sapthahwa (Alstonia scholaris)
- Kushta (Sauserra lappa)
- Phalini (Callicarpa macrophylla)
- Darvi (Berberis aristata)
Preparation of Sidharthaka Snana Choorna
All the ingredients are taken together and crushed and made powder separately. Then all the powders are taken in equal quantity and mixed together and stored for use.
Indications of Sidharthaka Snana Choorna
- Kusthahara (leprosy)
- Varnya (improves the colour of skin)
- Twak dosha hara (good for skin diseases)
- Shwayathu (edema)
- Pandu (anemia)
Mode of use, Dosage, Indication
In general, it is used as a bathing powder in skin diseases. It is also said that it can be used as a decoction in conducting vamana, virechana, and also as a decoction for internal administration.
