Charngeryadi Gulika – Ingredients, Uses, and Dosage
Charngeryadi Gulika or Charngeryadi Tablet is an ayurvedic medicinal preparation in the form of a tablet/pill. It is used in treating diarrhea, hemorrhoids/piles, pain in the rectal region, pain abdomen, Irritable bowel syndrome, etc…
Ingredients of Charngeryadi Gulika:
- Changeri (Oxalis corniculata) – 0.025g
- Dhanadakshi (Caesalpinia bunduc) – 0.025g
- Ajaji (Trachyspermum roxburghianum) – 0.025g
- Chandana (Santalum album) – 0.025g
- Musta (Cyperus rotundus) – 0.025g
- Amrasthi (kernel of Mangifera indica) – 0.025g
- Jambu (Syzygium cumini) – 0.025g
- Jati (Myristica fragrans) – 0.025g
- Vedhi/Hingu (Ferula asafoetida) – 0.025g
- Dadima (Punica granatum) – 0.025g
- Pippali (Piper longum) – 0.025g
- Ugra/Vacha (Acorus calamus) – 0.025g
- Ativisha (Aconitum Heterophyllum) -0.025g
- Hingula (Cinnabar) – 0.025g
- Ahiphena (Papaver somniferum) – 0.025g
- Ghana kwatha (decoction of Cyperus rotundus) – 0.208ml
Preparation of Charngeryadi Gulika:
All the ingredients are taken in the specified quantity and made into powder. Then all the powders are mixed with a decoction of musta and ground well to make a thick paste. Then the pills are rolled out and dried in the shade can be stored for use.
Indications of Charngeryadi Gulika
- Atisara (Dysentery/Diarrohea)
- Arshas (Heaemorrhois/Pile)
- Guda Shoola (pain in the rectal region)
- Udara Shoola (pain abdomen)
Mode of use, Dosage, and Adjuvants
Charngeryadi Gulika is advised in kola matra or gunja matra (125mg) once or twice daily or as advised by the physician. This is used along with honey, kutajavalkala swarasa (fresh juice of kutaja bark), patha swarasa or any other suitable adjuvants.
It is also found beneficial in rakta atisara and atisara with guda bramsha. It should be used very cautiously as it contains Ahiphena and Hingula.
