Kasis Bhasma – Uses and Dosage

Preparation of Kasis Bhasma

The Kasis Bhasma is prepared by triturating purified kasisa with the juice of lemon. The cakes are prepared and then placed in an earthen shallow plate covered with another plate and sealed with clay-smeared cloth. Later this sealed plate is subjected to a fire in which seven kilograms and six hundred eighty grams of cow dung cakes are used. Once the burning process is over and cooled, plates are opened to obtain the contents in it. 

Kasis Bhasma primarily consists of ferrous sulfate compounds. The purification process transforms these raw materials into a bioavailable form, enhancing their efficacy. The bhasma is known for its astringent, hematinic, and antipyretic properties, making it a versatile remedy in Ayurvedic medicine.
