Talisapatradi Choornam – Ingredients, Uses, and Dosage
Talisapatradi Choornam or Thaleeaspathradi Choornam/Talisapatradi Churnam is an ayurvedic medicinal preparation in the form of powder. It is used in treating cough, breathing difficulty, improves taste, reduces vomiting, splenic disorders, pain in cardiac region, pain in flanks, anemia, fever, diarrhea, helps in proper movement of vata, throat irritation and good in dry cough.
Ingredients of Talisapatradi Choornam
- Talisa Patra (Abies spectabilis) – 1 part
- Maricha (Piper nigrum) – 2 part
- Nagara/Shunti (Zingiber officinale) – 3 parts
- Pippali ( Piper longum) – 4 parts
- Shubha/Vamshalochana (Bambusa bambos) – 5 parts
- Ela (Cinnamomum verum) – 1/2 part
- Twak (Elettaria cardamomum) – 1/2 part
- Sharkara (Saccharum officinarum) – 32 parts
Preparation of Talisapatradi Choornam
All the above-said ingredients are taken and crushed to make powder separately. Then all the ingredients are mixed together in a specified quantity. This mixture is known as Talisapatradi Choornam can be stored for use.

- Kasa (treatment of cough)
- Shwasa (breathing difficulty)
- Aruchi (loss of taste)
- Chardi (vomiting)
- Pleeha roga (splenic diseases)
- Hrut shoola (pain in the cardiac region)
- Parshwa shoola (pain in flanks)
- Pandu (anemia)
- Jwara (fever)
- Atisara (diarrhea)
- Mudha vata (helps in normalizing vata movement)
- Shosha (depletive disease) – sharangadhara samhita
- Admana (distention of abdomen) – sharangadhara samhita
Mode of use, Dosage, and Adjuvant
In general, it is used 5 to 15 gms once/twice or repeatedly or as directed by the physician.
