Sitopaladi Churna – Ingredients, Uses, and Dosage

Sitopaladi Churna or Sitopaladi Choorna is an ayurvedic medicinal preparation in the form of powder. It is used in treating breathing disorders, cough, depletive diseases, numbness of the tongue, anorexia, decreased digestive power, pain in the flanks, burning sensation in hand and feet, fever and bleeding above the shoulder level.

Ingredients of Sitopaladi Churna

  1. Sitopala (Sugar candy) – 16 parts
  2. Tugaksheeri/Vamshalochana (Bambusa bambos) – 8 part
  3. Pippali (Piper longum) – 4 part
  4. Ela (Elettaria cardamomum) – 2 part
  5. Twak (Cinnamomum verum) – 1 part

Preparation of Sitopaladi Churna

All the above-said ingredients are taken in equal quantity and crushed separately and made powder. Then all the powders are mixed together and stored in an airtight container for use.

Indications of Sitopaladi Churna

  1. Shwasa (dyspnea)
  2. Kasa (cough)
  3. Kshaya (depletive disease)
  4. Suptijihwa (numbness in tongue)
  5. Arochaka (tastelessness in mouth)
  6. Mandagni (decrease digestive capacity)
  7. Parshwa shoola (pain in flanks)
  8. Hasta pada daha (burning sensation in hand and feet)
  9. Jwara (fever)
  10. Urdwaga raktapitta (bleeding diseases above the shoulder level)

Mode of use, Dosage, and Adjuvant

Sitopaladi Churna has advised 3 to 12 gms per day as directed by the physician. It has to be taken along with honey and ghee making a paste and licked every day.
