The ingredients of Punarnavasava
Madhura Dravya (sweetening substances)
- Sita (Sugar candy) – 1 tula (4.800gms)
- Madhu (Honey) – 1/2 tula (2.400gms)
Drava Dravya (liquid material)
- Jala (water) – 2 drona (24.576 liters)
Prakeshepa Choorna (powders to be added)
- Trikatu – 1 pala (48gms)
1. Shunti (Zingiber officinalis)
2. Pippali (Piper longum)
3. Maricha (Piper nigrum) - Triphala – 1 pala (48gms)
1. Haritaki (Terminalia chebula)
2. Vibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica)
3. Amalaki (Emblica officinalis) - Darvi/Daruharidra (Berberis aristata) – 1 pala (48gms)
- Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) – 1 pala (48gms)
- Brihati (Solanum indicum) – 1 pala (48gms)
- Kantakari (Solanum xanthocarpum)- 1 pala (48gms)

Punarnavasava preparation :
All the above-mentioned ingredients are taken in ghee smeared earthen vessel. Then the vessel is sealed properly and kept in an airtight room for the fermentation process. After a month this has to be opened and the liquid is filtered to use.

- Amlapitta – Acidity, gastritis,
- Yakrut – Liver disorders
- Gulma – Abdominal tumor
- Jwara – Fevers
- Kruchra sadhya roga – Chronic curable diseases
The dose:
- In general 15 – 30 ml. one or two times a day or as directed by the physician.
