Kutajatriphaladi Lehya or Kutajadi Gula is an ayurvedic jam preparation. It is used in anemia, skin diseases, fever, splenic diseases, piles, fissures, cardiac diseases, urinary tract diseases, bad odour of sperm, decreases digestive capacity, depletive diseases, mild poisoning, ascites, cough, white discharge, edema, abdominal tumors, diseases of throat, diabetes, enlargement of testicles, giddiness etc…
Ingredients of Kutajatriphaladi Lehya
Ingredients for Kashaya (decoction)
- Kutaja beeja/Indrayava (seeds of Holarrhena antidysenterica)
- Triphala
1. Haritaki (Terminalia chebula)
2. Vibhitaki (Terminalia bellerica)
3. Amalaki (Emblica officinalis) - Nimba (Azadirachta indica)
- Patola (Trichosanthes dioica)
- Ghana/Musta (Cyperus rotundus)
- Nagara (Zingiber offinale)
Madhura Dravya (sweetening substances)
- Sita (sugar candy) – 8 palas (384 gms)
- Madhu (Honey ) – 3 pala (144 gms)
Prakshepaka Dravya (powders to be added at last)
- Twak ksheeri/Vamshalochana (Bambusa arundicea) – 1 pala (48 gms)
- Pippali (Piper longum) – 1 pala (48 gms)
- Amalaki (Emblica officinalis) – 1 pala (48 gms)
- Karkatashringi (Rhus succedanea) – 1 pala (48 gms)
Other Ingredients
- Shilajatu (Asphaltum punjabinum) – 8 palas (384 gms)
- Nidigdhya/Kantakari Phala and moola (root and fruit of Solanum virginianum) – 1 pala (48 gms)
- Trijataka (Q.S)

Preparation of Kutajatriphaladi Lehya
The decoction is prepared using the drugs specified for the decoction in a given quantity. Once the decoction is prepared the shilajit and sugar added and macerated ten or twenty or thirty times.
Then the powders are added in a specified quantity and stirred well. This semisolid paste is stored and used.

Dosage of Kutajatriphaladi Lehya
According to the textual reference, the dose is 1 Aksha (12 gms) or as directed by the physician.
It should be consumed either before food or after food.
Anupana :
Kutajatriphaladi Lehya should be taken along with any one of these – Dadimambu (juice of Punica granatum), Paya (Milk), Pakshi rasa (bird meat soup), Toya (Water), Sura (Alcoholic preparation), Asava (Alcoholic preparation).
