Dipyakadi Choorna

Dipyakadi Choorna is one of the powder combination explained in the chapter of Garbhavyapat sharira of Astanga hrudaya. This powder is mainly used to subside the pain after delivery. It is also used in the condition like the pain in the abdomen, digestive disorders, tastelessness, diarrhea with suitable adjuvants.

Ingredients of Dipyakadi Choorna:

  1. Dipyaka/Ajamoda (Carum roxburghianum)
  2. Ativisha (Aconitum heterophyllum)
  3. Rasna (Aipinia galanga)
  4. Hingu (Ferula asafoetida)
  5. Ela (Elettaria cardamomum)
  6. Panchakola
    1. Pippali (Piper longum)
    2. Pippali moola (root of Piper longum)
    3. Chavya (Piper retrofractum)
    4. Chitraka (Plumbago zeylanica)
    5. Nagara/Shunti (Zingiber officinale)

Indications of Dipyakadi Choorna:

  1. Vedana Shamana after delivery
  2. Garbhashaya Shodana

Mode of use :

Dipyakadi Choorna is used as in the form of Choorna (powder), Kalka (paste), Kwatha (decodtion) with suitable Sneha(medicated ghee or oil).
