Parushakadi Leham – Ingredients, Uses and, Dosage
Parushakadi Leham or Parushakadi Lehaym is an ayurvedic medicine in the form of jam (leha). It is suitable for aches and ulcers especially peptic ulcer in the abdomen. It can also be used in mukha paka (stomatitis) and gastritis.
Madhura Dravya (sweetening substance)
- Madhu (Honey) – 0.816 ml
- Sarkara (Saccharum officinarum) – 4.898g
Prakshepaka Dravya (powders to be added)
- Parushaka (Grewia asiatica) – 0.816g
- Draksha (Vitis vinifera) – 3.265g
- Ikshu (Saccharum officinarum) – 1.633 gms
- Vidanga (Embelia ribes) – 0.204g
- Devadaru (Cedrus deodara) – 0.204g
- Ativisha (Aconitum heterophyllum) – 0.204g
- Lodhra (Symplocos cochinchinensis) – 0.204g
- Gadahwa (Saussurea costus) – 0.204g
Preparation of Parushakadi Leham
Prepare the Leha with above drugs taken in the specified quantity and the add powders. It should be mixed thoroughly and stored for use.
Indication of Parushakadi Leham
- Udara ruja (pain abdomen)
- Antra ruja (colic pain)
- Amlapitta (Acid peptic diseases)
Dosage of Parushakadi Leham
In general 5 to 15 gms once or twice daily or as directed by the physician.
