Gulguluthikthakam Kashayam – Ingredients, Uses, and Dosage
Gulguluthikthakam Kashayam is an ayurvedic medicinal preparation in the form of decoction and tablets. It is prepared using the ingredients of Guggulutiktaka Ghruta. Though it has almost all the properties of ghruta preparation limited by kashaya preparation. It is used in treating chronic vata diseases which affect the joints, skin diseases, sinus, abscess, cancers, fissures, abdominal tumors, piles, diabetes, depletive disorders, breathing difficulties, cold, cough, pain, anemia, gout, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune diseases, psoriatic arthritis, diabetic ulcers, etc…

Ingredients of Gulguluthikthakam Kashayam :
- Nimba (Azadirachta indica) – 1 part
- Amruta/Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) – 1 part
- Vrusha/Vasa (Adhatoda vasica) – 1 part
- Patola (Tricosanthos dioica) – 1 part
- Nidigdhika/Vyaghri/Kantakari (Solanum xanthocarpum) – 1 part
- Patha (Cyclea peltata) – 1 part
- Vidanga (Embelia ribes) – 1 part
- Suradaru/Devadaru (Cedrus deodara) – 1 part
- Gajopakulya/Gajapippali (Scindapsus Officinalis) – 1 part

Preperation method of Gulguluthikthakam Kashayam
All the above-said ingredients are taken in a specified quantity and crushed to a coarse powder. The 8 times of water is added and boiled. When the water content is reduced to one-fourth quantity it is filtered and used.

- Sandhi asthi majjagata vata roga (All vata disorders, especially joints)
- Sandhi asthi majjagata kushta roga (skin diseases)
- Nadi vrana (sinus)
- Arbuda (cancer)
- Bhagandhara (fistula in ano)
- Gandamala (scrofula)
- Jatrurdwa sarva roga (all the diseases above the shoulder level)
- Gulma (tumors)
- Arshas (piles/hemorrhoids)
- Meha (diabetes)
- Yakshama (tuberculosis/depletive disorders)
- Aruchi (loss of taste)
- Shwasa (breathing difficulties/asthma)
- Pinasa (running nose/cold)
- Kasa (cough)
- Shopha (edema/swelling)
- Hrudroga (cardiac diseases)
- Pandu roga (anemia)
- Mada (intoxication)
- Vidradhi (chronic ulcers)
- Vatarakta (gout)
Mode of use, Dosage, and Adjuvants
Gulguluthikthakam Kashayam has advised 15 to 30 ml with three times of water once or twice daily or as advised by the physician.
Its available in the form of tablets (Gulguluthikthakam Kashayam Tablets) also and the general dosage is 1 to 2 tablets once or twice daily or as advised by the doctor.
CAUTION: To be taken under Medical Supervision. One should be cautious while using this medication as it contains Semecarpus Anacardium. People who are weak, children’s and allergic to Semecarpus Anacardium should be avoided using this or to be taken strictly under medical supervision.
