Bhringamalaka Thailam or Bhringamalaka Thaila is also known as Cheriya Bhringamalakadi Thailam. It is an ayurvedic medicinal oil used in treating hair fall, improving the tone, increases eyesight, deafness and tightens the grip on the loose tooth.
Ingredients of Bhringamalaka Thailam
Sneha Dravya (Oil Substance)
- Thila Taila (Oil of Sesamum indicum) – 1 prastha (768 ml)
Kalka Dravya (Material for paste)
- Yashtimadhu (Glycyrrhiza glabra) – 1 pala (48gms)
Drava Dravya (Liquid material)
- Bhringaraja Swarasa (Eclipta prostrata) – 1 prastha (768 ml)
- Amalaki Swarasa (Emblica officinalis) – 1 prastha (768 ml)
- Ksheera (Cows Milk) – 4 prastha (3.72 lits)
Preparation of Bhringamalaka Thailam
All the ingredients are taken with specified quantity and mixed together in a vessel. Then this mixture is heated till the watery contents get evaporated. It is prepared using oil preparation method as explained in texts.
