Arimedadi Thailam or Arimedadi Thaila is an ayurvedic oil preparation. It is used to treat diseases related to the mouth, especially dental diseases.

Ingredients if Arimedadi Thailam

Drava Dravya (Liquid materials) :

  1. Arimeda (bark of Acacia leucophloea) – 100 pala
  2. UdumbaraTtwak (Ficus racemosa)  25 pala
  3. Plaksha Twak (Ficus microcarpa) – 25 pala
  4. Ashwatha Twak (Ficus religiosa) – 25 pala
  5. Nyagrodha twak (Ficus bengalensis) – 25 pala
  6. Jala (Water) – 4 drona

Prepare the decoction by using above drugs.

Kalka Dravya (Materials for making the paste)

  1. Yashtimadhu  (Glycyrrhiza glabra)
  2. Trijata
    1. Twak (Cinnamomum zeylanicum)
    2. Ela (Elettaria cardamomum)
    3. Patra (Cinnamomum tamala)

Sneha Dravya (Oil substance)

  1. Thila Thaila (Sesame Oil) – 1 adhaka

Preparation of Arimedadi Thailam

The Oil is prepared by using the Thaila vidhi procedure. The decoction is mixed with oil along with herbal paste and the oil is prepared.

Indications of Arimedadi Thailam

  1. Mukha Roga
  2. Danta Roga.

Mode of use:

Arimedadi Thailam is used as Nasya (Nasal medication), Pana (internal administration), Gandhusha (keeping in the mouth for the specific period), Vasti (enema) and Abhyanga (external application).

Dosage of Arimedadi Thailam:

When Arimedadi Thailam is used internally it has to be administered as prescribed by the physician.
