Aragwadhadi Kashaya/Aragwadhadi Kashayam or Aragwadham Kashaya/Aragwadham Kashayam is an ayurvedic kashaya(decoction) preparation. It is made using the ingredients of the Aragwadhadi gana of the text Astanga Hrudaya. Aragwadhadi Kashaya is generally used in treating the skin disease where the purification is required. It is also indicated in Vomiting, Intermittent fever, kaphaja diseases, itching, diabetes, and ulcers.

Ingredients Aragwadhadi Kashaya:

  1. Aragwadha (Cassia fistula)
  2. Indrayava (Holarrhena antidysenterica)
  3. Patali (Stereospermum suaveolens)
  4. Kaakatikta (Trichosanthes tricuspidata)
  5. Nimba (Azadirachta indica)
  6. Amruta (Tinospora cordifolia)
  7. Madhurasa/Murva (Moringa oleifera)
  8. Sruvavriksha (Butea frondosa)
  9. Pata (Cyclea peltata)
  10. Bhunimba (Andrographis paniculata)
  11. Saireyaka/Sahachara (Barleria prionitis)
  12. Patola (Trichosanthes cucumerina)
  13. Karanja Yugma
    1. Karanja (Pongamia pinnata)
    2. Pootikaranja (Caesalpinia bonducella)
  14. Saptachada (Alstonia scholaris)
  15. Agni/Chitraka (Plumbago zeylanica)
  16. Sushavi/Karavella (Momordica charantia)
  17. Bana (Tephrosia purpurea)
  18. Madanaphala (Randia dumetorum)

Indication of Aragwadhadi Kashaya:

  1. Chardi (Vomiting)
  2. Kushta (Skin diseases)
  3. Visha (poision)
  4. Jwara (fever)
  5. Kaphaja roga (Kapha predominent diseases)
  6. Kandu (Itching)
  7. Prameha (diabetes)
  8. Dushta vruna shodana (wounds)

Dose of Aragwadhadi Kashaya :

  1. If kashaya is prepared freshly then follow the calssical dose ie 1 pala(approximately 48ml)
  2. If you buy the readymade kashayam bottle the general dose is 10 to 15 ml or as directed by the phiscian.
