Jirakadi Modaka – Ingredients, Uses, and Dosage

Jirakadi Modaka or Jeerakadi Modakm/Jirakadi Modak is an ayurvedic medicine in the form of dumplings. It is used in treating vaginal diseases, postnatal care, abdominal pain etc…It can also increase the digestive and absorptive capacity of the GIT. This also helps in cleansing the GIT. It is also used as a general tonic for ladies.

Ingredients of Jirakadi Modaka

  1. Jeeraka Dwaya
    1. Shweta Jeeraka (Cuminum cyminum)
    2. Krishna Jeeraka (Carum carvi)
  2. Krishna/Pippali (Piper longum)
  3. Sushavi/Upakunchika (Nigella sativa)
  4. Surabhi/Rasna (Alpinia galanga)
  5. Vacha (Acorus calamus)
  6. Vasa (Adhatoda vasica)
  7. Saindhava (Rock salt)
  8. Yava kshara (Alkali preparation of Hordeum vulgare)
  9. Yavanika (Trachyspermum ammi )

Indication of Jirakadi Modaka

  1. Yoni roga (vaginal diseases)

Dosage of Jirakadi Modaka

In general 10 to 20 gms once or twice daily or as directed by the physician.
