
Valiya Chinchadi Thailam or Valiya Chinchadi Thaila is an ayurvedic medicinal Oil preparation. It is Also known as Chinchadi Thailam (Big). Valiya Chinchadi Thailam used to treat Vata predominant diseases (Acute and chronic rheumatic diseases).
Ingredients of Valiya Chinchadi Thailam
Drva Dravya (Liquid Materials)
- Chincha (Tamarindus indica) – 4.000 g
- Eranda (Ricinus communis) – 4.000 g
- Sarini/Prasarini (Merremia tridentata) – 4.000 g
- Varuna (Crateva magna) – 4.000 g
- Snuk (Euphorbia ligularia) – 4.000 g
- Bhanu/Arka (Calotropis gigantea) – 4.000 g
- Gandira (Cayratia trifolia) – 4.000 g
- Jambeera (Citrus limon) – 4.000 g
- Satapatra/Shigru patra (Moringa oleifera) – 4.000 g
- Patra (Leaves) Swarasa – 4.000 g
- Grinjana Rasa (Allium ascalonicum) – 4.000 g
All the above ingredients are taken 1 part
- Dadhi (Curd) – 10 ml
- Amala Shukta (Vinegar) – 1o ml
Kalka Dravya (materials used for making the paste)
- Siddhartha/Shweta sharshapa (Brassica juncea) – 0.167 g
- Amaradaru/Devadaru (Cedrus deodara) – 0.167 g
- Shigru (Moringa oleifera) – 0.167 g
- Lavana/Saindhava Lavana (Rock Salt) – 0.167 g
- Viswa/Sunthi (Zingiber officinale) – 0.167 g
Sneha Dravya (Oil substance)
- Tila Taila (Sesamum indicum) – 7.333 ml
- Nimba Thailam (oil of Azadirachta indica) – 1.333 ml
- Sarshapa Thaila (Brassica juncea) – 1.333 ml
Preparation of Valiya Chinchadi Thailam
All the ingredients are taken in specified quantity. Then all are mixed together and heated in a mild fire. When the oil is properly processed it should be filtered and used.

Valiya Chinchadi Thailam is used as an external application for Abhyanga, Dhara etc…
