Sukumara Leham

Sukumara Leham is also known as Sukumara Lehyam or Sukumara Rasayanam is prepared with the ingredients of Sukumara Ghruta. It has almost all the proprieties of ghruta preparation. It is in the form of paste/Linctus with good palatability. It is used in treating many diseases like infertility, Piles, Vataja diseases, splenic diseases, vaginal diseases etc…

Ingredients of Sukumara Leham:

  1. Punarnava (Boerhaavia diffusa)
  2. Dashamoola
    1. Bilva (Aegle marmelos)
    2. Agnimantha (Premna mucronata)
    3. Shyonaka (Oroxylum indicum)
    4. Patala (Stereospermum suaveolens)
    5. Gambhari (Gmelina arborea)
    6. Brihati (Solanum indicum)
    7. Kantakari (Solanum xanthocarpum)
    8. Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris)
    9. Shalaparni (Desmodium gangeticum)
    10. Prishnaparni (Uraria picta)
  3. Payasya (Roscoea purpurea)
  4. Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera)
  5. Eranda (Ricinus communis)
  6. Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus)
  7. Dwidarbha
    1. Dharba  (Imperata cylindrical) moola
    2. Kusha (Saccharum spontaneum) moola
  8. Shara (Saccharum munja) moola

Preperation of Sukumara Leham

All the ingredients are taken in specified quantity and leha is prepared by using leha preperation menthod.

Indication of Sukumara Leham:

  1. Vrishya (Increases Virility)
  2. Vajeekara (Improves sexual capacity)
  3. Kantikara (Improves complexion)
  4. Lavanyakara (increases attactiveness)
  5. Pushtikara (Nourishes body)
  6. Vruddi (Used in hernia)
  7. Vidradhi (Abscess)
  8. Gulma (Abdominal tumors)
  9. Arsha (Piles)
  10. Yoniroga (Vaginal diseses)
  11. Medra roga (Obesity related dieseses)
  12. Vataroga (Vata predominent diseases)
  13. Pida (Pain)
  14. Shopha (Swelling/Oedema)
  15. Udara (Ascities)
  16. Udara roga (Abdominal diseses)
  17. Pleeha roga (Splenic diseses)
  18. Vibandha (Constpation)

Dosage of Sukumara Leham:

In general 10 – 30 gms per day along with suitable adjuvents or as directed by the physician.

For better results avoid Adhwagamana (riding on vehicles), Vahanayana (traveling), Exposing to Sun and Air.

Sukumara Leham has more malanulomana (downward movement of faeces) property compared to Sukumara Ghruta preparation.

One has to consider the digestive capacity of the person before administering the Sukumara Leham.
