Sneha Dravya (Oil material)
- Thila thaila (oil of Sesamum indicum)
Drava dravya (Liquid material)
- Aja ksheeram (goat’s milk)
Kashaya Dravya (decoction materials)
- Karpasa (Gossypium hirsutum)
- Balamoola (Sida cordifolia)
- Masha (Vigna mungo)
- Kulatha (Macrotyloma uniflorum)
Kalaka Dravya (materials for making the paste)
- Devadaru (Cedrus deodara)
- Bala moola (Sida cordifolia)
- Rasna (Alpinia galanga)
- Kushta (Saussurea costus)

Preparation of Karpasasthyadi Thailam
The decoction is prepared using karpasaasthi, bala moola, Masha and kulatha one prastha (768 ml). To the decoction, one prastha of goats milk along with one prastha of thila thaila and pastes prepared using devadaru, bala, rasna, kusta, sarshapa, nagara, shatahwa, pippali moola, chavya, shigru, and punarnava are added together and heated. This mixture is heated till proper thila paka qualities appear. Then the oil prepared is filtered and stored for use.
