Jeerakarishtam – Ingredients, Uses and Dosage
Jeerakarishtam or Jeerakadyarishtam is also one of the ayurvedic medicine used mainly in treating postnatal conditions, loss of appetite, diarrhea, IBS, IBD, etc… It is also commonly prescribed medicine after delivery.
Ingredients of Jeerakarishtam
Madhura Dravya (sweetening substances)
- Guda/Jaggery (Saccharum officinarum) – 5.834 gms
Drava Dravya (liquid material)
- Jeeraka (Cuminum cyminum) decoction – 3.889 gms
Prakshepa Choorna ( powders to be added)
- Dhataki Pushpa (woodfordia fruticosa) – 0.311 gms
- Shunti (Zingiber officinale) – 0.039 gms
- Jatiphala (Myristica fragrans) – 0.019 gms
- Musta (Cyperus rotundus) – 0.019 gms
- Twak (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) – 0.019 gms
- Patra (Cinnamomum tamala) – 0.019 gms
- Ela (Elettaria cardamomum) – 0.019 gms

Mode of use, Dosage, and Adjuvants
The general dosage of Jeerakarishtam is 15 – 30 ml with an equal quantity of water once or twice daily or as advised by the physician.
