Brahma Rasayana or Brahma Rasayanam is an ayurvedic medicine . This is formulated by Lord Brahma. It is considered as one of the best rejuvenatory preparation. It helps in relieving exertion, exhaustion, aging, prevents early greying of hairs, boosts intelligence, memory etc…

Kashaya Dravya (Materials for preparing decoction)

Preparation of Brahma Rasayana

Kashaya preparation:

First 1000 no’s of Pathya and 3000 no’s of Amalaki are taken along with 5 panchamoola’s (each 25 palas) are boiled in 10 times of water and reduced to 1/10 part.

The boiled Amalaki and Haritaki are made paste and added to the decoction.

Then the powders of Twak, Ela, Musta, Rajani, Pippali, Agaru, Chandana, Mandukaparni, Kanaka, Shankahapushpi, Vacha, Plava, Yasthimadhu, Vidanga, are taken 1 kudava each and Sitopala 1/2 bhara of the vessel are added.

To this three times of the weight of vessel Ghee is added and two times of the weight of Thila oil is added and heated.

Once it attains a semisolid state it is allowed to cool down and once it is cooled 320 pala’s of honey is added and mixed well. This leham is then stored in ghee smeared vessel for storing.

  9. Amitayusha (Increases lifespan)

How to use Brahma Rasayana?

Brahma Rasayana is taken in the early morning and has to wait till it get digested. Only after feeling hungry one should have food made from Shashtika (rice which grown in 60 days) and Milk.

Dosage of Brahma Rasayana

In general 15 to 30 gms once or twice daily or as directed by the physician.
